Our members always have the opportunity to get out and enjoy life -- and if that means reading mainstream popular novels and watching Hollywood movies, then so be it!

Hoping to capture the attention of late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel, female residents at Solterra Senior Living recently filmed their reactions to box-office smash "50 Shades of Grey."

"Solterra Senior Living is not the average community living organization. There is always something to do and somewhere to go," says Melissa Barry, Regional Director of Business Development. "Our marketing director, Adrian, thought it would be a fun opportunity to record the women before and after the film to capture some of their hilarious reactions."

In the 'before' segment, the women talk about what they expect to see and how they expect to feel while watching the movie, which is based off the hugely popular romance novel. In the 'after' segment, they share their thoughts on how the movie lived up to their expectations -- with some pretty colorful responses.

Barry says the ladies filmed this video with the hope of catching Jimmy Kimmel's attention and potentially be featured on his late-night TV show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Local news station ABC 15 picked it up in an effort to help spread the word.

"The Solterra community in Chandler admires Jimmy Kimmel, especially because they were able to meet his sister, who visited the community for a stand-up comedy show," Barry says. "They are aiming for being on his show sometime in the near future, as they plan on doing more short post-movie reaction segments."

Encouraging residents to get creative with their excursions to the movie theater is just one of the many ways Solterra Senior Living offers the best standard of living to seniors, Barry says.

"We always like to have fun in our communities. The company prides itself on being able to engage community members in unique and rewarding ways," Barry says. "Our members always have the opportunity to get out and enjoy life -- and if that means reading mainstream popular novels and watching Hollywood movies, then so be it!"
