Anniston Plant Manager Neal Stephenson receives Paper Plant of the Year Award from Vice President, Manufacturing John Corsi, left, and CEO Tom Nelson

National Gypsum Company, a leading supplier of gypsum wallboard, interior finishing products and cement board, named its Anniston, AL, facility as its Paper Plant of the Year for 2014. The plant produces the facing paper for National Gypsum’s gypsum plants. It had only four rolls with complaints in 2014, the best performance among the company’s three recycled paper plants.

The plant employs 69 associates and was also recognized for its work in implementing improvements in National Gypsum’s PURPLE paper used on its XP wallboard. The paper plants are judged on paper downgrades, paper-related board plant culls, and downtime due to paper-related issues.

Plant Manager Neal Stephenson accepted the award for associates at ceremonies earlier this month.
