AuthX Consulting Sponsors Local RVA Community Event
RICHMOND, VA (PRWEB) April 06, 2015 -- AuthX Consulting, a Digital Engagement Company, was proud to sponsor the Caring for the Caregiver Software Development “Hack-a-Thon” on March 21-22. The inaugural event, hosted by the Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving, pitted student teams from various Virginia universities against one another in a competition to develop a technology that promoted the care of the city’s caregivers. Competing for a $5,000 prize, student-teams worked over a 24-hour period to create technical solutions that positively impacted the overall wellness and daily lives of these compassionate and selfless individuals.
The sponsorship represented AuthX’s ongoing commitment to the city of Richmond, VA and it’s community, as well as its entrepreneurial student base. AuthX Chief Technology Officer, Jerry Hill, who volunteered as a judge for the competition, says, “The Hack-a-Thon was a great event that brought together some very bright minds from around the community. I’m thrilled that we were able to support the technical passion of these students, while also extending innovative technology solutions to this great cause.”
“It was a truly an inspirational and amazing weekend – pioneering an exciting method of intergenerational problem-solving and celebrating the dedication of the students who embraced the challenge of improving the lives of family caregivers,” said Adrienne Johnson, Executive Director of SeniorNavigator and initiative lead for the Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving. “We are incredibly grateful for AuthX Consulting’s most generous spirit and vision in making the Hack such a grand success – a perfect marriage of their dedication to the community and passion for all things technology.”
The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving is an initiative of SeniorNavigator, a statewide public/private partnership non-profit that helps Virginia’s seniors, caregivers, and families find vital information and community programs.
