(PRWEB) April 03, 2015 -- IN AMERICA with the program's host, legendary actor James Early Jones, is currently developing the latest episode, focusing on music therapy and how it is used to improve the loves of those who take part. Doctors and patients alike see the benefits of music therapy and give their side of the importance to human health, all of which is covered in this segment of "In America," which seeks to inform viewers on not only what music therapy is, but how it has proven especially helpful in patients across the globe.
Music therapy has shown signs of improving the memory of those who struggle from dementia to allowing people a better means of expressing themselves. There is an internal connection between specific songs and the movements and interactions a person can identify with. This music helps open up new gateways inside of the mind and can bring out characteristics of an individual that have been suppressed, potentially since birth. It is music therapy that helps unwrap these connections and to bring them out to the forefront. While different patients have different results, music therapy has proven successful in both children and the elderly.
"In America" is an independent production that is distributed to Public Television Stations throughout the United States for airing at the station's discretion. It is not a direct production of APT or PBS and it is not affiliated with any of these organizations.
