ClickSafety Expands Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Online Training Curriculum with 40-Hour course
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (PRWEB) April 03, 2015 -- ClickSafety, a leading provider of online safety training, today announced an expansion of its online Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training curriculum with the introduction of an OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour online classroom training course. With this addition, ClickSafety now offers the complete range of HAZWOPER training to help environmental remediation and construction industry professionals meet OSHA requirements specified in OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120. Additionally, all courses meet IACET continuing education unit requirements.
ClickSafety's HAZWOPER training series was developed by a team of industry professionals including certified industrial hygienists, certified safety professionals and registered environmental health professionals. The course authors collectively have more than 100 years of construction and environmental remediation experience, including hands-on experience while working at some of the most high profile hazardous waste clean-up operations in U.S. history.
The new OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour course provides safety and awareness training for general site workers such as equipment operators, laborers, general construction workers and environmental scientists, as well as supervisors and managers. It is designed to meet the classroom safety training requirements for workers likely to be exposed to hazardous waste as defined by OSHA’s 1910.120. Course materials range from basic overviews of HAZWOPER regulations to specific safety and health training for site characterization and site control, levels of protection, respiratory protection, emergency response and more. Safety hazards commonly found on most construction sites (e.g. fall protection, trenching and excavation, struck by, caught between) are also addressed in this training.
ClickSafety’s 40-Hour course complements its existing 24-Hour HAZWOPER course designed for workers onsite only occasionally and for a specific limited task such as ground water monitoring, land surveying or geophysical surveying.
ClickSafety has also introduced a HAZWOPER 16-Hour course. This abbreviated training is designed for workers, supervisors and managers who have taken the HAZWOPER 24-Hour course and subsequently need to become general site workers, may now be required to wear respirators or who simply want to upgrade their existing 24-Hour HAZWOPER certification to a 40-Hour certification. The 16-Hour HAZWOPER course focuses on air monitoring and hazard detection, respiratory protection, chemical protective clothing and emergency response protocols, among other topics.
In addition to the HAZWOPER 40-Hour, 24-Hour and 16-Hour courses, ClickSafety provides a HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher course that is updated each year and meets the OSHA annual 8-Hour refresher requirements.
ClickSafety also offers a HAZWOPER Supervisor 8-Hour training course that includes introductory information to specialized materials that will enable supervisors and managers to recognize and eliminate, or reduce, occupational safety and health hazards at their job sites where workers are exposed to uncontrolled hazardous waste.
"Our number one commitment is worker and job site safety," said Brian Tonry, ClickSafety executive vice president and general manager, "and providing comprehensive training specially designed for those who work in an environment of safety and health hazards and hazardous substances is an important part of that commitment. I'm confident our clients will find the HAZWOPER curriculum invaluable."
