As the Nation Commemorates Easter Local Faith-Based Leaders Reach Beyond Church Walls to Celebrate the Cornerstone of their Faith with the North Texas Community

As more than 2 billion Christians around the globe stop to recognize and reflect upon the death and life of Jesus Christ, Carrollton based, Covenant Church lead by founding pastor Mike Hayes, will be stretching their arms a bit wider this Sunday for the N. Texas community. Pastor Hayes and the church’s leaders plan to welcome thousands into the American Airlines Center this Sunday April 5th beginning at 10:30 a.m. for their Easter celebration.

Reports estimate that over half of the nation’s population (50.8%) will be attending some form of Easter worship service this Sunday. For individuals who’ve never attended a church or don’t have a church home, this service at the American Airlines Center will serve as an open door for many Dallas residents looking to celebrate Easter and be introduced to church through a non-traditional setting.

Home to the 2011 NBA Championship team Dallas Mavericks and 1999 Stanley Cup Winner Dallas Stars, the American Airlines Center will serve as epicenter for thousands to express their faith in a monumental symbol fit for the magnitude of the occasion.

“With over 100 nationalities represented within our membership, we are an extremely diverse congregation which is representative of our nation and the body of Christ” remarked Pastor Hayes. “By offering this unique Easter service at the American Airlines Center our goal is to dispense hope to everyone.”

During this advent season for many Christians, historic traditions, celebrations and holy observances are expressed as Easter is amongst the holiest commemorations of the Christian faith.

In the weeks leading up to this Sunday’s service at the American Airlines Center, ministers and volunteers of Covenant Church set out feeding homeless, rebuilding local food gardens and providing clothing items to shelters across the metroplex. “Easter at the AAC” is but a culmination of the six-week service campaign the church has been activating. Over 250 families have been positively impacted because of their campaign.

Covenant Church’s Easter service at the American Airlines Center begins at 10:30 a.m. with a special party on the Plaza for children at 9:00 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. The American Airlines Center is located at 2500 Victory Ave, Dallas, TX. Parking will be complimentary.
