SDP is opening the world of painting to young adults, teenagers and children. We want to show them the joy of making something with their own hands and expressing themselves with color,” said Pat Marler, President, Society of Decorative Painters.
Wichita, KS (PRWEB) April 06, 2015
The Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) will host its first Family Fun Day on Saturday May 16, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL. Family Fun Day is a must-attend all day event for families with children of all ages. There will be painting activities for kids and adults, learn-to-paint demos, shopping, special events and more!
The event will feature the Kids Zone, where children will receive painting activity kits to play, create and be inspired, among other fun and exciting art exhibits and show floor activities. Also, attendees can take a glass etching class that will teach participants how to turn a plain eight inch square glass surface into a one-of-a-kind holiday cookie plate, which will be used for generations to come.
All individuals who register by April 30 will be entered for a chance to win great prizes, including art products and gift cards.
“SDP is opening the world of painting to young adults, teenagers and children. We want to show them the joy of making something with their own hands and expressing themselves with color,” said Pat Marler, President, Society of Decorative Painters. “Family Fun Day will provide a creative outlet for people of all levels of artistic ability, from skilled painters to those who have never painted before, to learn a new skill or just have some fun!”
Family Fun Day will take place on the last day of SDP’s 43rd Annual Conference & Expo, which runs from May 11-16, 2015. This year’s Conference will feature over 100 painting classes, representing oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, plus a variety of other mediums for all skill levels. The Expo will feature vendors selling a variety of paint supplies and finished goods, appealing to everyone including younger crafters, artisans and creative enthusiasts across the world.
