First Lady of New Orleans, Cheryl Landrieu, to Christen American Cruise Lines’ American Eagle
Guilford, CT (PRWEB) April 08, 2015 -- American Cruise Lines (http://www.americancruiselines.com) has announced the christening of their second Mississippi River paddlewheeler, the American Eagle, on April 25th, 2015 in New Orleans. Mayor Mitch Landrieu will be the guest of honor and his wife, Cheryl Landrieu will christen the new riverboat.
“The city of New Orleans has played an integral part in the growth of American Cruise Lines, and we couldn’t be happier than to have the First Lady of New Orleans, Cheryl Landrieu, to christen the American Eagle,” said Judy Roman, Vice President of American Cruise Lines. “With its rich history and deep culture, New Orleans is a favorite destination for our guests along the Mississippi River.”
The American Eagle carries 150 guests in the most spacious staterooms available on any Mississippi riverboat ranging from 300 – 600 square feet. Of the 84 staterooms, 78 feature large private balconies, all of which have sliding glass doors for optimal views. The new riverboat offers customized specifications, especially designed to maintain the elegance of classic late 1800’s riverboats but will be the most modern and environmentally friendly ship on the Mississippi River. Features include elevator service to all decks, 6 lounges including the Sky Lounge, room service and refreshments all day while guests enjoy the rear sundeck with panoramic views. American Cruise Lines plans to operate the new paddlewheeler primarily on the Lower Mississippi River between New Orleans and Memphis.
“The highest-quality onboard experience is what our guests can expect aboard the American Eagle,” continued Roman. “Every day we think of more ways to maximize comfort and address the desires of our guests. This ship will truly raise the bar in U.S. river cruising.”
