A new report released by Modern Distribution Management shows that most distributors failed to meet their e-commerce expectations in 2014. The 2015 State of E-Commerce in Distribution, sponsored by hybris, an SAP Company, provides an overview of the e-commerce objectives and challenges facing distribution companies today.

The 2015 State of E-Commerce in Distribution whitepaper includes e-commerce as a percentage of distributor sales, expectations for e-commerce growth, priorities for e-commerce in 2015, distributor marketing preferences and much more.

According to the survey, only 15 percent of survey respondents reported 5-10 percent of their total sales derived from e-commerce, well short of the 20 percent expectation. But the channel continues to mature for distributors, with 26 percent expecting to reach 5-10 percent of total sales from e-commerce in 2015.
