The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving continues to extend its safety focus with the introduction of the Bondurant Women's Driving Academy. After a test run earlier this year, the academy will open on the 60-acre Bondurant campus in Phoenix on May 9 – just in time for Mothers' Day – and will continue with a one-day course each month.
A maximum of 12 women will participate in each course, working with four of Bondurant's expert team of instructors. The students will spend most of the day behind the wheel, honing their skills in vehicle handling and cornering, accident avoidance, precision maneuvers, skid control and navigation. Enhanced vision and driving techniques will give them increased confidence and ability to handle everyday driving challenges like inclement weather, winding roads, highway traffic and tight parking spaces.
Chevrolet, the Bondurant School's vehicle of choice, will support the academy with a fleet of Camaro and Tahoe vehicles, giving participants the option to learn in either sedan or sport-utility vehicles.
