Innovation & Tech Today Debuts STEM Section; Within Spring Issue on Newsstands April 9 In Partnership With The USA Science & Engineering Festival
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- Innovation & Tech Today has further established itself as the voice of the most progressive technology and innovation trends, products, and industry disruptors by developing one of the finest education sections of any tech magazine, focused on STEM. It premieres in the spring issue, due in all Barnes & Noble stores, Micro Center's, select news stands and retailers, and on all digital formats April 9.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is the acronym for the integrative learning now blazing through public and private education. STEM has been developed to bring more American students into the skills and careers that will define our future economy — and their future world.
Innovation & Tech Today has partnered with the USA Science & Engineering Festival, which presents the largest STEM-oriented festival in the world, with more than 350,000 attendees. By collaborating with the festival, STEM section editor Melissa Hirsch, a former college teacher, feels the overall presentation is bolstered by some of the world’s most important voices bridging the gap between careers and education.
“The team works with some of the most notable leaders in almost every field,” Hirsch said. “They've introduced us to some incredibly insightful individuals who know firsthand about the obstacles to a successful career in STEM.”
The highlights of Innovation & Tech Today’s focus on STEM in the Spring issue include:
• Interview with 13-year U.S. Space Camp veteran, Alyssa Carson, who is focusing her life on a mission to Mars.
• The importance of making STEM fun to young kids.
• What role technology should/does play in education.
• Additional interviews with Virgin Galactic CEO George Whitesides, Global Teacher Prize Finalist Stephen Ritz on project-based learning, and Dean Kamen about overcoming obstacles, participating in STEM and his FIRST program.
• Positive women role models in STEM fields, featuring Linda Calhoun of Career Girls.
• Supporters of STEM including the US Space & Rocket Center, ORD Solutions (3D printers), A + Mobile Solutions (affordable mobile STEM labs), and ETA International.
“If we want to benefit from innovators through job creation, life-improving products or services, and inspiration, it's irresponsible to neglect the educators, caretakers, and programs that allow children to thrive in STEM fields,” Hirsch said. “It's vital we all start celebrating the individuals who make STEM fun and accessible to kids.”
Innovation & Tech Today will continue presenting the 12-page STEM section as a regular series, creating opportunities for corporate educational supporters to participate as partners.
Now in its third year, Innovation & Tech Today is the millennial tech enthusiast and top industry influencer's voice of the rapidly-growing fields of innovation, technology, STEM/education, and business leadership. I&T Today is seeking sponsors and contributors for the next STEM mini magazine that will be featured in the Summer Issue. Innovation & Tech Today is published by Innovative Properties Worldwide, corporate offices are located in Denver, CO, with satellite offices in Clearwater, FL, and Portland, OR.
