Florida Agency Network taking lead in data security; undergoing rigorous compliance audit by 360 Advanced.

Saying his firm intends to lead the Florida title insurance services industry in protecting consumer data, Florida Agency Network CEO Aaron M. Davis today announced he has engaged a leading national IT audit and compliance firm to assess and confirm his company’s superior levels of information security compliance.

Florida Agency Network has engaged 360 Advanced, a respected Quality Security Assessor (QSA) and CPA firm, to conduct the rigorous Service Organization Controls 1 and 2 (SOC 1 and SOC 2).

Davis explained that while some operators in the title insurance services industry are just recently recognizing the need to strengthen IT defenses, his network of firms are ahead of the curve in taking specific steps, such as the SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits, to aggressively focus on comprehensive client data security at all levels of operations.

“The protection of the borrower’s information is a critical issue with banking and lending,” said Davis. “The handwriting is on the wall that the lenders are going to hold their title vendors to the same levels of security that they are held to. They will be selecting companies who can protect their data, personal client information, and trust funds, and prove it. The Florida Agency Network will be well ahead of the curve.”

He explained that every week, industry publications report on data breaches, primarily in small companies in the title insurance services industry, so taking formal steps to assure client data is protected will soon become the norm.

Completion of the data security examinations by 360 Advanced will give his firm a competitive advantage, Davis said. “We are the first title agency in the state of Florida to be ALTA (American Land Title Association) Best Practices Certified via 3rd party in all seven pillars, and now we are immediately rolling that certification into the SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits. I feel that we will be a safe haven, shelter for other agencies, which may not be able to do banks’ closings for much longer because they have not completed these examinations and audits.”

Davis said he chose 360 Advanced for several reasons, the most important of which were “the relationship aspect of the personal service, the attractive pricing, the ease of the process, ease of use, them understanding our business and the structure of our business, a very customizable solution that fit our needs. Just a one-stop-shop for me.”

The Florida Agency Network is the parent to numerous title agencies across the state of Florida, and has multiple vetted vendor relations under its umbrella as well. In total, FAN has more than 200 employees at various locations statewide, along with four attorneys on staff, and five Network/IT specialists on staff dedicated to serving FAN and its members. In whole, Florida Agency Network’s companies complete an estimated 1,000 closings a month. The firm is the largest independent title agency network in Florida.

Florida Agency Network includes Hillsborough Title, Trident Title, Tampa Bay Title, Paramount Title, Homeplus Title, Cornerstone Title, Uptown Title, Performance Title & Escrow and Progressive Title Solutions.
