Colorful early chapter book series continues with The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob - A Challenging Job by Brooks Olbrys

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a question frequently asked of children. Their responses are almost always ambitious, as they should be – a business owner, an architect, a space engineer, a marine biologist. But what children don’t often learn from a young age are the principles and habits that will help lead them there. A new early chapter book series changes this.

In The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob – A Challenging Job (April 2015), which follows The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob – A Journey Begins (2013), author, business advisor, and father, Brooks Olbrys, introduces children to fundamental achievement principles through an engaging, lyrical tale that also aims to raise awareness about our oceans and marine life. With a captivating story and colorful illustrations, young readers will swim right along with an inspirational cast of characters as they learn and have fun.

In A Challenging Job, Blue Ocean Bob, a courageous island boy with an open-mind and adventurous spirit, embarks on a job to help defend and protect the life resident on his island’s shores and in the nearby sea. Accompanied by his cautious guardian, Xena the hummingbird, Blue Ocean Bob is guided by his mentor, Miss Mary Marine, receives timely assistance from his friend Al the Dolphin, and elicits the wisdom of Doc the turtle, Earl the clam, and Wallace the walrus as he faithfully carries out his duties. With the help of his team, Blue Ocean Bob overcomes each obstacle he faces and grows more confident as he learns and applies several timeless principles of achievement: confidence, responsibility, communication, gratitude and success.

Olbrys was inspired to write the series based on his own life experiences, his study of the achievement philosophies, his appreciation of authors such as Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, Bob Proctor, and Wallace D. Wattles, and his role as father to his growing son. “For many years, we read books to our son every night before bed,” shares Olbrys. “I found myself wishing these books could convey these important principles that would benefit him for life.”

Fun and impactful, The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob – A Challenging Job offers:

  •     Access to fundamental achievement principles in a medium that will captivate and engage young readers
  •     Stories that foster an appreciation for the ocean and marine life
  •     Engaging rhyme and colorful illustrations for the whole family to enjoy
  •     Power through a positive mindset, gratitude and good decision making
  •     And much more!

A graduate of Stanford University, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts, and the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, Brooks Olbrys is the founder of Children’s Success Unlimited and a managing director at investment bank Ion Partners. He lives with his wife and son in New York City.

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob – A Challenging Job is the second book in a three-part series. A Parent and Teacher’s Activity Guide and iTunes apps are also available.
