Luma Touch and axle Video to Bring Shared Storage Editing to the iPad
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- Luma Touch and axle Video will announce the release of “axle Edit” at NAB in Las Vegas this April. axle Edit, developed by Luma Touch in partnership with axle Video, empowers mobile journalists to finish news stories directly from their iPad or iPhone using proxy media from the axle MAM as well as media captured directly on their mobile device. When the iPad edit is complete, a single tap sends the project and the full resolution location media to axle servers to be re-conformed using the hi-resolution original media in place of the proxy media.
axle Edit is the first product created using Luma Touch’s new Spry Engine, a powerful framework for video apps on iOS and OSX. Spry incorporates decades of expertise, enabling powerful editing, compositing and effects apps. Spry includes a full object model, powerful compositing runtime with multiple effects per clip, and a large complement of fully customizable UI components for building audio-video applications. Luma Touch plans a range of products based on Spry, and Spry will be available soon for licensing by 3rd party developers that want to develop powerful video applications quickly and easily.

axle Edit on the iPad and iPhone uses the same axle logon credentials and permissions for importing proxy media and ensures that those authorized can only see the media that’s relevant to them. The app itself will be free from the Apple App Store, but will require the purchase of an axle Edit license for media import and export.
