Redesigned password manager app features a more simplified mobile experience, free for a limited time through Samsung Galaxy Gifts

LastPass, the leading password manager, announces the release of its redesigned Android app, incorporating Google’s Material Design for a faster and more modern mobile experience. LastPass has also partnered with Samsung to offer a free Premium upgrade for Galaxy S6 device owners as part of the Samsung Galaxy Gifts program.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Samsung on its Galaxy Gifts program, through which millions more Android users will be introduced to secure password management with LastPass," said Joe Siegrist, CEO and Co-Founder of LastPass. "Our goal is to make it easy for consumers to do away with passwords, taking advantage of features like the fingerprint sensor, which easily secures and unlocks their LastPass account.”

All Android devices running 4.0 or later, including Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners, will benefit from the completely redesigned LastPass Android app. In addition to a more intuitive design, the app has been redesigned to feature each user’s vault front and center. By adopting one of the paradigms of Material Design, a floating New Item button appears in the lower right-hand corner of the vault to easily store a new Site, Secure Note or Form Fill Profile.

Navigation in the app has been condensed with a navigation drawer, and app settings have also been reorganized and simplified. LastPass’ built-in browser is now available through the navigation drawer as needed. With ongoing enhancements to LastPass’ app fill features and autofill for Chrome mobile, LastPass users can rely less on LastPass’ built-in browser and more on the convenient features LastPass offers to fill directly into other app screens as a part of their normal workflow.

“Security and the user experience are our greatest priorities when it comes to optimizing our mobile applications,” said Siegrist. “We continue to focus on design improvements to make managing the security of your personal information online and your ability to accomplish tasks on-the-go as simple as possible.”

With the Samsung Galaxy Gifts promotion, Galaxy S6 and S6 edge users can redeem a gift of three to six months of LastPass Premium (see your localized Samsung Galaxy Apps store for details).

LastPass for Android is part of the Premium service for $12 per year and the updated app is now available on the Google Play Store.
