Transor Filter USA has announced the establishment of Transor Filter Japan Co., LTD., a wholly owned subsidiary.

According to Transor President Irv Kaage, Transor filters had been sold and serviced by an independent representative. To lead this new operation, Mr. Kaage announced the appointment of Yuji Nakamura as President/Managing Director. Previously, Mr. Nakamura, acting as Managing Director for Walter Japan, oversaw the expansion of that product line and contributed to the strong brand recognition Walter has in that country. Mr. Nakamura feels the overall manufacturing sector in Japan has grown significantly in recent years and is optimistic about educating the cutting tool sector on the many benefits of Transor’s One Micron Filtration (OMF).

“The number of Transor users in Japan continues to grow,” stated Kaage, “and having a direct sales/service staff headed up by Mr. Nakamura is a great step forward in strengthening our position for current and future customers.” Kaage further pointed out the significant advantages the Transor System offers over other conventional forms of filtration for cutter/tool grinders such as cartridges, band filters and pre-coat systems. “With this office and Mr. Nakamura’s extensive background in the cutting tool industry,” Kaage concluded, “we’re excited to be able to expand our technology to the Japanese market.”
