The NPD Group, Inc., a global information company, today announced that it has entered an agreement to begin providing enhanced market level retail sales tracking and reporting for The Bike Cooperative, a member-owned cooperative of independent bike retailers that maximizes economies of scale and profit for bike stores with exclusive marketing, savings, and rebate programs.
Through this partnership, NPD will provide The Bike Cooperative with custom, aggregated monthly sell-through reporting for its membership, resulting in a level of reporting and insight into the organization’s buying power it has long sought. This information is a valuable tool to help further The Bike Cooperative’s mission of driving profitability at its member stores.

Effective immediately, The Bike Cooperative’s management team and its participating member stores will gain access to industry-level reporting for all categories of cycling related products. In the coming weeks and months, The Bike Cooperative and NPD will collaborate on recruiting retailers to participate in a data exchange program as NPD develops a custom reporting platform that specifically addresses sales within the group.
