WASHINGTON (PRWEB) April 14, 2015
This summer, 40 college students will embark on a trip of a lifetime to China, as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Incorporated (CBCF) Emerging Leaders: US-China Study Abroad Program. Over the course of two weeks, the group will visit Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai and study Chinese history, Mandarin, business and politics.
“This is an exciting time for the CBCF as we expand our global initiatives through the China study abroad program,” said A. Shuanise Washington, president and chief executive officer of the CBCF. “We believe building career and educational opportunities abroad is critical in an era of increasing globalization.”
The CBCF is currently accepting applications for the China Study Abroad program. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2015. Students with exceptional coursework in business, trade, science, technology, engineering or mathematics will be strongly considered. The program for the first group of 20 students will take place June 25 to July 13. The program dates for the second group is from July 9 to July 27.
The China-U.S. Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) organized and administered the program in collaboration with the CBCF. Students will tour the Great Wall and the Forbidden City in Beijing and participate in lectures and workshops about China’s economy, education system, art and history, and US-China relations.
