Oswego Creative Announces Winners for Pro Bono Video Project
Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 14, 2015 -- On December 9, 2014, Oswego Creative, a Golden based video production company, hosted a video project on their website where users could go on and nominate their favorite Colorado-based charity to be considered to receive a pro bono, 2-3 minute video production highlighting the organization’s cause. The Action Center, Ekar Farms and the San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society, were announced the winners this week on Oswego’s blog.
The Action Center is a human-service non-profit organization offering the single-most comprehensive range of services to struggling residents of Jefferson County and the homeless. They dedicate their time meeting the immediate needs of their clients, treating them with respect and dignity. The organization provides the resources needed to develop pathways to self-sufficiency, breaking the cycle of poverty.
Ekar Farm is an urban organic farm committed to eliminating hunger and malnutrition. From the platform of their 2-acre farm, Ekar Farm educates and engages the community in building a local, healthy and fair food system. In their 5 seasons of farming, Ekar Farm has hosted over 5,000 volunteers and donated over 40,000 pounds of community-grown, organic vegetables to help feed close to 4,500 people in need.
The San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society is located in one of the poorest regions of Colorado. It was founded and run by Frank and Aileen Peek who have used their own money to shoulder the efforts of rescuing animals in need. Operating on very low outside donations and facing virtually no placement opportunities, they have carefully screened and found homes for more than 8,000 animals, who otherwise would have faced neglect, starvation, life on the street, and would live absent of medical care and love.
“We received over 40 submissions for the Community Care Charity Video Project. With such an amazing group of entries, it was difficult to choose just one organization to work with.” Bill Johnson Vice President of Marketing and Operations at Oswego Creative said. “Although we wish we could’ve worked with every organization, we had to narrow our selection down to three charities. These organizations all have very compelling and diverse missions, but are all are dedicated to making Colorado a better place.”
For those organizations which were not selected, Oswego Creative announced that they will be hosting the Community Care Charity Video Project again later this year and encourages previous and new participants to apply.
