Glass Doctor of the Gulf Coast Appears on Television Program
LONG BEACH, Miss. (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- Glass Doctor of the Gulf Coast recently installed a shower for a house being featured on the television show “Tiny House Nation.” The season premiere episode of the FYI network program aired on April 13.
Tiny House Nation features two renovation experts who travel across the country to find and feature unique ‘tiny houses’ and the people who live in them. The show also offers families the opportunity to design and build their own small homes.
The show spawned out of the tiny house movement, a social phenomen whereby people have actively sought to downsize their living space. While the average American home is approximately 2,600 square feet, a tiny house typically measure between 100-400 square feet. These homes are typically more energy efficient and feature impressive engineering, finding unique ways to fill a small space with basic amenities.
Glass Doctor of the Gulf Coast faced an exciting challenge when they installed the shower in the tiny house. “For most shower installations we conduct, several large pieces of glass are used,” said David Ray, owner of Glass Doctor of the Gulf Coast. “Due to the unusually small size of the bathroom, we installed a smaller, single piece of glass to keep water in the shower.”
“This was an interesting project, to say the least,” said Ray. “The television show crew was very accommodating, and it was a pleasure to work with them and the homeowners to provide them with their new shower.”
