8th Annual Peace in the Northeast March Los Angeles Saturday 18 April 11am-4pm
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- PEACE IN THE NORTHEAST MARCH
When: Saturday 18 April 10:30am – 4pm
Where: Sycamore Grove Park 4702 N Figueroa St. Los Angeles
The Peace in The North East March is going into its 8th year and has been making a difference in the Northeast of Los Angeles.
In the last years (gang)violence in the North East has dropped to the lowest point since the 1950’s, however in these last months domestic violence and assault numbers have increased dramatically, also several shootings have taken place. If there ever has been a time where community members can make a statement and a difference, now is the time to do so at the PEACE IN THE NORTH EAST MARCH taking place on SATURDAY 18 APRIL.
The March will start at 10:30am at FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL on AVE 54 where different elected officials will address the people at 11:00am. At 11:30am the march will go from York blvd, to Figueroa St, to SYCAMORE GROVE PARK.
At the Park there will be free food, live entertainment, a health fair where people can take several free tests and there will be much needed information available on safety, community initiatives and church efforts to help keep Northeast Los Angeles safe and clean. Different participants will give out promo gifts.
Because of the increased crime rates in our communities, the PEACE IN THE NORTH EAST committee has decided to invite world renown Speaker / Evangelist NICKY CRUZ:
No one knows how to touch a troubled youth's tortured life like ex-gang leader Nicky Cruz. Nicky reaches out to lost souls on the streets and helps them turn their lives around. Whether through "T.R.U.C.E." (To Reach Urban Communities Everywhere) invasions, or personal appeals to auditoriums filled with thousands of rival gang members, or through his internationally best selling books, Cruz is making a difference. There is a simple reason for his success in reaching these kids where presidents, politicians, social workers, and preachers often fail… Nicky is one of their own.
Nicky has been a guest on many national television programs, has been invited to speak to numerous state legislatures, and is considered an authority on youth violence. He is a noted author, having written seventeen books, and is best known for the autobiography entitled “Run Baby Run”, which has sold over 14 million copies world-wide, is translated into more than 40 languages, and is required reading for high school students in six European countries.
Legislators, celebrities, the religious community and the national news media have applauded Nicky for his innovative and effective program for turning young people from lives of drugs and violence to a more productive path. Such national newspapers as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post have chronicled these efforts.
