Great Britain patent number GB2491088 is for brushless DC motors.

Agave Semiconductor announced today the issuance to it by the Great Britain patent office of a patent that covers control technology for improving the performance of DC brushless motors. Great Britain patent number GB2491088 is for brushless DC motors, which find uses in automotive applications, computers, household appliances, refrigeration and cordless power tools.

“Electric motors consume nearly half of the world’s electricity. There is a universal need for improved electric motor efficiency,” said Robert Brannen, President of Agave Semiconductor. “This latest patent is part of our strategy to bring our technology to key markets,” he said.
