Goodwill Southern California Makes Special Vintage Fashion Collection Available for Sale to the Public for First Time in 100 Years
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Goodwill Southern California (GSC) will hold a one-time, one-day only Vintage Clothing Collection Sale on Sunday, April 19 from 10:00am – 9:00pm at its Community Enrichment Center at Fletcher Square (3150 N. San Fernando Road, 90065).
Special Media Early Access Preview – 9:00am – 10:00am. Please call Sasha Itzikman at 323-979-9395 or sitzikman(at)goodwillsocal(dot)org to confirm attendance.
The collection includes thousands of pieces curated since GSC was established in 1916. Iconic items range from nearly every era of fashion ranging from the 1800’s through the 1980s.* The garments were donated to Goodwill over the years and were selected for use in fashion shows and other events also appearing in segments on television. From Victorian Lace and hand beaded dresses from the 1900’s to fabulous frocks from the 50’s and groovy knits and patterns from the 70’s, men’s and women’s clothing will be offered for sale, including dresses, suits, separates, coats, and wedding dresses.
As an added bonus, the Vintage Fashions Sale will also include a collection of 700 men’s and women’s hats, also donated to Goodwill over the years. The hats are being offered for sale just in time for the Kentucky Derby on May 2.
“Goodwill is thrilled to offer our vintage clothing collection for sale to the community,” said GSC President and CEO, Craig Smith. “Our donors, over the years, have astounded us with their generosity. To be able to look back and see these vintage fashions in historical context makes the donations even more meaningful”.
*Clothing origination dates are identified by the donor. Merchandise will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Shoppers will be limited to 10 items per person. Due to the age of the merchandise, garments will be sold as-is. No returns will be available for this one-time-only event. Free parking is available at the Goodwill Fletcher Square Community Enrichment Center.
