Each year, Gartner puts out a list of 'cool' vendors. This recognition identifies vendors who have put out interesting and innovative products or services in each of several categories. Earning such an award is an indicator of a product that is making inroads in the marketplace and is worthy of a second look.
This year, N2N Services has been selected by Gartner as a "Cool Vendor in Leveraging Data in Education." Gartner picked N2N Services because its N2N Integration Cloud (NIC) provides an integration platform (iPaaS) to link together disparate educational technology applications, which are systems of record for various institutional data. This allows those systems to be viewed as a single educational ecosystem, affording the institution both economy and improved effectiveness.
The NIC already has a record to stand on, having simplified integration and enabled increased functionality at institutions like the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and at Brandman University. For VCCS, the NIC has enabled the 23 geographically dispersed colleges in the system to each integrate a local installation of the Augusoft Lumens continuing education/lifelong learning enrollment management software with a single instance of a Student Information System at the System office. At Brandman University, the NIC plays a critical role in establishing an agile Competency-Based Education (CBE) environment by connecting Student Information Systems, financial aid systems, digital textbook environments, courseware environments and learning platforms into a seamlessly integrated package.
