“Companies that do business with the Federal Government are required be compliant with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations that mandate a contractor workforce be comprised of 8% veterans and 7% people with disabilities,” explained Merry P. The rule strengthens the affirmative action provisions of the regulations to aid contractors in their efforts to recruit and hire individuals with disabilities (IWDs), and improves job opportunities for individuals with disabilities, according to the OFCCP.
“The opportunities to employ veterans are plentiful,” said Bill Errico, military veteran and EVP of government practice for Pearl. “The challenge is to execute in a way that is positive for the employer and veteran.”
Procurement expenditures on contracts were over $448 billion in fiscal year 2014, according to USASpending.gov. Pearl Interactive Network provides entry into this marketplace by recruiting, hiring, and training veterans, disabled veterans and other challenged populations.

According to Monster.com Internal Data (April 2014), three million people have recently left the military service. More than two-thirds (64%) of surveyed veterans said they are likely to search for a job in the next 12 months. In an economy still struggling to recover, these military veterans are likely to face employment challenges.
Monster.com also reports “nearly all employers (99%) believe that veterans perform their job the same or better than non-veteran workers. Similarly, employers report that veterans perform as well or surpass non-veterans in terms of career advancement, job retention, and job turnover.”
