“If Not for This Woman…” Science Center Seeking Nominations for Innovators Walk of Fame
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- The University City Science Center is looking for women who have changed the world. The Science Center is accepting nominations for the second class of its Innovators Walk of Fame, which will honor women innovators with a connection to the Greater Philadelphia region. The Call for Nominations opens Monday, April 20 and runs through June 15, 2015.
Launched in 2013 to commemorate the Science Center’s 50th anniversary, the Innovators Walk of Fame shines a light on the diverse tradition of discovery and innovation in the Greater Philadelphia region. Past honorees have made groundbreaking contributions to the scientific and entrepreneurial communities that have revolutionized the local, regional and global landscape.
As the Science Center examines Greater Philadelphia’s innovation story through different prisms, the second class of the Innovators Walk of Fame celebrates the female innovators who have transformed the world with their ideas, inventions, and creativity.
“The Innovators Walk of Fame reflects the diversity of the local, regional and global communities in which the Science Center operates and innovates,” says Science Center President & CEO Stephen S. Tang, Ph.D., MBA. “The face of innovation is varied and diverse, and to be relevant the Innovators Walk of Fame must reflect that spectrum.”
Nominees are not limited by industry or type of innovation. Instead, successful nominations will complete this sentence: “If not for this woman’s innovation, the world would be a lesser place because…..”
Nominees may be alive or deceased. They must have a connection to the Greater Philadelphia region (including southern New Jersey and northern Delaware). Diversity of nominees and a compelling personal narrative will also be considered.
