Password manager conveniently autofills login credentials on Google Chrome’s mobile app without leaving the browser

Following the announcement of Google’s Chrome extension support, LastPass, the leading password manager, releases its Chrome extension for iOS 8. The extension enables iPhone and iPad users to securely fill in passwords on any web page without leaving the browser, making remote password management smarter and easier than ever.

Similar to LastPass’ Safari extension, users simply tap the Share icon in Chrome to open the extensions menu to reach the LastPass button. Once enabled, LastPass will detect any stored credentials based on the website URL that is open in the browser. After choosing a login from LastPass, users will see a pop-up that enables them to enter the correct username and password into the login fields in the browser. With the Chrome extension, iOS 8 users can also experience the convenience of using LastPass’ Touch ID to unlock and gain access to password-protected accounts online.

“Chrome is the browser of choice in desktop and mobile for more than one-third of Americans,” said Joe Siegrist, CEO and co-founder of LastPass. “We are thrilled to bring this functionality to the LastPass iOS app so that dedicated Chrome users can work within the browser they love without interruptions to their workflow. Thanks to Google’s extension support, our users are empowered to have proper password hygiene from a mobile device. ”

The iOS app is part of LastPass’ Premium service, which includes unlimited access on smartphones, tablets and all browsers and computers for $12 per year. LastPass Premium features are available to new users with a free two-week trial. To learn more, please visit
