BlumShapiro invites runners, walkers, children, families and its civic minded neighbors to join them at the annual BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship, May 2, from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
The BlumShapiro 5K is a full day of fun, food and entertainment – and all for a great cause. $10 of every registration goes directly to Hartford’s Camp Courant, the oldest and largest free summer day camp program in the country.
The BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant includes the Aetna Kids Fun Run for children 12 years and younger starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race and walk at 11:00 a.m.
Throughout the day, participants can count on a lot of fun, including a brand new element of the BlumShapiro 5K, described below!
Before the races, runners and walkers can prepare with food and drink provided by Dunkin’ Donuts, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Coca-Cola and others. Also, prior to the Aetna Fun Run, children will be treated to many activities, including mini- golf putting greens, inflatables, face painting, games, clowns, jugglers, balloon artists and caricaturists.
All new to the annual BlumShapiro 5K is a post-race celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will include great food and beverage specials from Bears Smokehouse BBQ of Hartford and Windsor and Michelob Ultra. The entertainment will also continue, and include special guest appearances by Batman and Elmo.

By registering, each participant receives a race technical T-shirt and one Any All Day Ticket during the week of the 2014 Travelers Championship, June 22-28.

In its 7th year, the BlumShapiro 5K is an annual tradition that signals the kickoff to the Travelers Championship. The event welcomes people of all ability levels to run or walk along the roads that line the fairways, greens and practice facility at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.
