"Sunshine is getting cooler and more amazing, and I have plateaued. She's more positive than I am. She's braver." - Paige McKenzie, The Haunting of Sunshine Girl
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2015
Paige McKenzie is the star and co-creator of the popular web-series, The Haunting of Sunshine Girl. The Weinstein Company is adapting the series into a book and TV series. McKenzie sat down with Jeffrey Masters on Maria Menounos' online broadcast network Book Circle Online to promote her book and revealed that they've recently decided to make the the screen adaptation into a TV series rather than a film.
On the film/TV adaptation:
Paige McKenzie says, "It's going to be a television show." They were going back and forth and says they decided, "TV would be an easier transition."
On carefully choosing ghosts/paranormal as the basis for the series:
Paige McKenzie says at the time, "The number 2 searched thing on YouTube was ghosts, after Lil Wayne." She says that this was "strategic" and proved to be successful as "The first 5-million views on the channel are organic."
On similarities to her character:
Paige McKenzie says that she and Sunshine are slowly growing apart. "Sunshine is getting cooler and more amazing, and I have plateaued." She says, "We're about 89% different. She's more positive than I am. She's braver."
