Brentwood Search, the El Segundo, California based retained executive search firm, has entered into a consulting arrangement with Color Stampede to advance its recruiting efforts for startup and established media and technology companies who are moving into Downtown Los Angeles. Brentwood Search will serve as a contracted headhunter for Color Stamped while in turn Color Stampede will help identify the emerging players in digital media and emerging technology.
“The tech scene is beginning to take form in Downtown Los Angeles,” said Brentwood Search Managing Partner, Marcia Basichis. “According to the recent article in the Los Angeles Times, startup technology companies, especially, are taking advantage of the resurgent downtown scene and mainly moving into the abandoned industrial warehouses and the historic buildings that comprise the core of this nascent business scene.
“Color Stampede is becoming one of the emerging players in digital media and disruptive technology. Its principal is Casey Basichis. He is my son, of course. He also has more than ten years’ experience in key positions in the entertainment industry and in cutting edge technology, and has recently taken industrial loft space in the downtown area in other to develop breakthrough technology for a variety of media platforms and complementary business applications. As a headhunter, I will be drawing on his expertise where he will source new staffing opportunities for Brentwood Search while helping him staff for any future endeavors.”
Basichis pointed out that she also has vast experience in technology and entertainment. She noted she was the former Senior Vice President and Head of Development for Aaron Spelling and shepherded such iconic shows as Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place as well as the Emmy Award Winning “And the Band Played On,” which depicted the onset of the tragedy of AIDS in America.
“I was also an executive in convergent media and advanced technology that serviced the entertainment industry,” said Basichis. “I understand what people need to get their startups off the ground and what the more established media and technology companies need to scale and expand.
“The burgeoning downtown tech scene is very exciting,” said Basichis. “Our Mayor, Eric Garcetti, has done much to move it along. There is a vision, and with that vision, business finds a will of its own. I’m there to work with people and their companies. I can find the right executives for all staffing needs, including, financial, strategic, and creative, so they can achieve the success they are hoping for.”
