It is the only commercial OCT-Angiography (OCTA) system that is available today, there is no other device presently in the market. I would urge clinicians to look at the AngioVue now and not delay in delivering this revolutionary method of angiography.
Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 22 April 2015
Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the AngioVue OCT Angiography (OCTA) system, in the UK.
The AngioVue is the first commercial OCTA system capable of imaging and displaying the function of the ocular microvasculature, through a non-invasive procedure. The innovative system uses a unique dyeless technique to quickly evaluate the functional blood flow of the retina and optic nerve. This method allows the procedure to be performed in everyday clinical practice and unlike fluorescein angiography, can be repeated as often as required, and with no risk to the patient.
The AngioVue combines fast spectral-domain OCT (70,000 A-scans per second), Motion Correction Technology (MCT) and Split Spectrum Amplitude Decorrelation Angiography (SSADA) with CUDA parallel processing architecture and en face visualisation of 3D OCT data. These combined result in an innovative and unique solution for visualising ocular blood-flow in the vessels.
Unlike other imaging methods which use contrast agents, the en face visualisation of 3D OCT data reveals the microvascular flow within virtual dissected layers of the retina, with segmentation automatically generating the layers of interest.
Jacqui Kenyon, HS-UK AngioVue Product Manager, said, “We are very excited to launch the AngioVue in the UK. Haag-Streit UK will be running a 2 week UK-wide roadshow to demonstrate the AngioVue, beginning on 22nd June 2015. The roadshow will offer a great opportunity for clinicians to gain hands-on experience and see the AngioVue in action. If you would like a demonstration as part of the roadshow, please email Jacqui Kenyon, HS-UK AngioVue Product Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07836 749164.
