Jacob York, one of entertainment’s leading executives responsible for the careers of Lil Kim, Junior Mafia, Gucci Mane, Dipset and more, has officially announced the launch of his company, Electric Republic (ER) alongside the release of their debut theatrical film, 'Brotherly Love.' ER is an independently owned media company that develops and markets talent, film, television and digital assets that speak to today’s popular culture.

Electric Republic is a concept that came to York at the tender age of 15. Now, keeping up with the current nature of today’s media culture, York is using his proven success, extensive resources and creative touch to bring yet another vision to life.

“Electric Republic is a concept over 20 years in the making. In the early days of the Media Age, an idea came to me, but I didn’t really know what it was going to be until I spent several years in entertainment industry,” said York. “Now I have the resources to create what is was truly meant to be-- an electric republic.”

Over the past six years, York has transitioned his impressive entertainment resume to incorporate TV and film production and management. Electric Republic aims to develop creative content that speaks to today’s generation. The company is set to constantly evolve with the digital culture and leave room for advances and innovations that will aid in the growth of the republic.

In 2012, Electric Republic alongside Flavor Unit Entertainment and Jacavi Films, produced their first theatrical film, 'Brotherly Love' which is scheduled for release April 24, 2015. The monumental production features headlining talents Keke Palmer, Cory Hardrict, Eric D. Hill and Romeo Miller. In addition, ER developed and produced their first straight-to-Netflix film, 'Percentage' which ranked No. 1 on Netflix in 2014 and starred Cam’ron, Omar Gooding, Ving Rhames and Macy Gray.

Alongside production, Electric Republic seeks fresh, versatile talent. They manage individuals who have the ability to do more than just sing or act, but become icons and walking brands. Currently, Electric Republic represents Model/Actress/Host Karrueche Tran, Actress/Acting Coach/Producer Lalanya Masters, Model/Actress/Social Media Influencer/ Vine Star Chantel Jeffries and many more.

“Ultimately, we at ER believe that if we find you, you have the ability to do multiple things. If you join the republic, you have the ability to transcend barriers,” said York. “I’m not just managing actors so they can win an Oscar. We’re creating brands that can be marketed into third party businesses and beyond.”

Current digital assets belonging to ER include the fraternity and sorority networking app, ‘Prophytes’ founded by Electric Republic VP, Eric York in 2012. In 2015 ER acquired, redeveloped and successfully relaunched the app January of 2015 on the IOS and Android market.

Electric Republic is an influential firm currently in their infancy stages. Created by one of the top entertainment industry leaders, ER is a true, digital republic; for the people, by the people.
