Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Podiatrist Elected Associate Chief of Podiatry at Anne Arundel Medical Center
Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) April 27, 2015 -- Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC podiatrist Dr. Ashleigh E. Korves (Annapolis and Clarksville Divisions) was recently elected Associate Chief of Podiatry at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
"I'm looking forward to working with other specialities to bring multidisciplinary care to our patients by raising awareness about podiatric care and surgery," said Dr. Korves.
Dr. Korves is a native Marylander who grew up outside Annapolis and attended the Severn School in Severna Park. She graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry. She then received her DPM degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. While in podiatry school, she was a member of the Pi Delta National Honors Society, and received the William L. Goldfarb Foundation Education Award.
Dr. Korves joined the practice in August 2011, after completing a three-year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. She served as chief resident in her final year, and received the Dr. Gary P. Jolly Academic Achievement Award upon graduating from the program.
Dr. Korves has a particular interest in sports medicine, trauma and athletic injuries, reconstructive surgery, diabetic wound care, and limb salvage. She treats patients of all ages with any foot and ankle conditions. She is currently on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Howard County General Hospital.
In addition, Dr. Korves is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons. She also serves on the board of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association as secretary.
Dr. Korves was a former ballet dancer, as well as a soccer and lacrosse player. She was the goalkeeper on the varsity lacrosse team at Wellesley College. Today, Dr. Korves is an avid runner. She also volunteers with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County in Annapolis and is a member of their RACE Team, a group that runs with the active, athletic dogs awaiting adoption.
