Founder of the Largest and Most Trafficked Website for Gift Cards Continues to Receive Accolades from Business Press

I am honored to get this recognition from the Pittsburgh business community and I am equally proud of being part of this group.

GiftCards.com, the largest online retailer of both physical and egift cards, today announced that CEO Jason Wolfe has been named a 2015 Diamond Award Winner by the Pittsburgh Business Times. At a special ceremony last night hosted by the Pittsburgh Business Times, Wolfe and 19 other executives in four categories were honored with the prestigious award.

The annual Diamond Award honors Pittsburgh’s top CEOs, company presidents or individuals who hold equivalent positions. Selections were made after submitting nomination forms that included company background information and supporting reference letters that discussed what marked the nominee as one of the region’s outstanding business leaders. Included were a description of the nominee’s customer service philosophy, relationship with employees, leadership style and the effect they have on staff and company performance.

“I am honored to get this recognition from the Pittsburgh business community,” said Jason Wolfe, “and I am equally proud of being part of this group. We have many thriving businesses in the region and it is exciting to see Pittsburgh evolving into a top business and tech center.”

This Diamond Award adds to Wolfe’s growing list of awards, accolades and recognition that showcase his success as an entrepreneur and contributions to the community and those less fortunate. Wolfe recently received Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, was named Milton Hershey School’s “Alumnus of the Year” and was a finalist in Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.

Unlike other typical entrepreneur stories, Wolfe’s journey is different in that he grew up in an orphanage and became homeless in his twenties. Wolfe ultimately taught himself how to code and eventually founded GiftCards.com in 1999 as a website originally named DirectCertificates.com. Today, Wolfe’s company is a $150M business and was honored by Inc. Magazine as an “Inc. 5000.”
