In the not-so-distant past, people who wanted younger or smoother skin had limited choices. But now Ink On Ink Off in Cleveland, Ohio, offers a new type of non-invasive laser skin treatment with less pain and downtime.

“The PicoSure laser is state of the art – it takes non-invasive skin revitalization to a new level,” said Jill Miller, M.D., medical director for Ink On Ink Off.

A new clinical artistry center recently opened in Cleveland is out to change the way people who want to improve the condition of their skin receive help with the addition of a new laser solution called PicoSure®.

“Before PicoSure®, people who were unhappy with the look of their skin had fairly limited choices — get a facelift, a chemical peel, injections, or one of those painful old-fashioned laser treatments,” said Jill Miller, M.D., medical director for Ink On Ink Off – a new clinical artistry center located in Cleveland. "PicoSure is a new type of skin revitalization treatment that is not only non-invasive, but offers impressive results without the typical downtime or discomfort associated with older methods," Dr. Miller explained.

According to Dr. Miller, PicoSure is the first and only aesthetic picosecond laser that is FDA-cleared for skin revitalization, removal of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as acne scarring and pigment removal.

"Where old-fashioned lasers rely on intense heat energy that caused pain, redness and swelling, the PicoSure laser takes a more gentle approach without the typical downtime or discomfort," she explained. "It is a quick and easy non-surgical, non-invasive laser that is used to help people who want a smoother, more youthful appearance, or help with acne scarring, age spots, wrinkles and sun damage. "

PicoSure works by using extremely short (one trillionth of a second) wavelength pulses to smooth and tighten the skin, while removing wrinkles and scarring. With problems like brown spots and other discolorations, the laser breaks down the pigment and it is then eliminated through the body's natural processes.

“Skin revitalization with the PicoSure laser is a very effective way to reverse skin damage caused by aging, sun, acne, and habits like smoking,” said Dr. Miller. “The PicoSure laser is state of the art – it takes non-invasive skin revitalization to a new level.”

According to Dr. Miller, most people who use their skin rejuvenation services are the over-40 crowd – people who want a brighter, more youthful appearance, but don’t like the idea of invasive procedures like facelifts, chemical peels, injections, or one of those old-fashioned laser treatments.

“I’m actually undergoing PicoSure skin revitalization myself, and the results have been great,” Dr. Miller said. “I just felt that if I was going to be recommending this, I needed to understand it first-hand.”

In addition to offering unprecedented results for mature skin, the PicoSure base is expanding to younger people as well who are seeking treatment for acne scarring. Dr. Miller said that results with this segment of the population have been tremendous, and not just on the face. Ink On Ink Off uses the PicoSure laser to treat many other areas of the body, including chest, décolleté, face, hands, legs, and more.

Only seasoned medical doctors with specialized training are allowed to perform skin revitalization procedure with the PicoSure laser, said Dr. Miller. “It’s not something offered at most salons, and Ink On Ink Off is the only clinic in the area to offer this treatment.”

A full skin revitalization package using the PicoSure laser consists of four treatments spaced two to four weeks apart. Dr. Miller said that most patients begin to see noticeable results after just two or three treatments.

“One of the things I like best about PicoSure is that the results are consistent, and work on almost all skin types with faster results and less downtime,” Dr. Miller said. “I’m very pleased to be able to offer it to our clients.”
