Internet Week Unveils Packed Lineup of Speakers, Panels, Classes, and Exhibits for Festival Headquarters at Chelsea's Metropolitan Pavilion

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- Internet Week’s HQ at Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion will showcase talks with leading thinkers and innovators, classes led by top experts, interactive exhibits and panels exploring how today’s tech-based economy is reshaping everything from business to entertainment to culture.

Taking place from May 18th to 24th, Internet Week is expected to draw more than 25,000 people to over 250 events at Internet Week HQ and at venues across the city including the Webby Awards hosted by Hannibal Buress and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Met’s digital initiatives.

Highlights of the Internet Week HQ lineup include:

  • Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, and Fathom Information Design's Ben Fry will discuss the recently released findings of the No Ceilings Full Participation Report, which compiles and analyzes data from more than 190 countries to identify the progress women and girls have made over the last twenty years and the gaps that still remain.
  • Featured talks by Al Roker, Coco Rocha, Marc Ecko, Nate Silver, William Bratton and more.
  • Internet Week's first-ever Developer Day, a daylong series of talks, demos, courses, networking and more led by chief technology officers including BuzzFeed's Mark Wilkie, AOL’s William Pence, DuoLingo's Severin Hacker and the City of New York's Minerva Tantoco.
  • A dancing drones performance showcasing the work of Flatiron School students hosted by Sara Chipps, Co-Founder of Girl Develop It, and Jewlie Bots.

  • Exhibitors will include: a Google Earth-based, interactive user experience created by CBRE, where visitors will be able to “fly” around New York City and visit some of the most sought-after buildings for tech tenants in Manhattan and Brooklyn; free professional headshots and tips for online profiles that catch recruiters’ attention from Mondelez International; a theater and café celebrating local New York City businesses hosted by YP.com; and an exhibit of the finalists for a subway ad competition highlighting how Code/Interactive’s helps at-risk youth thrive in the tech industry, sponsored by Fiverr.
