In 2012, David was also the recipient of the prestigious Wellington Mara NFL Man of the Year Award.

Diehl, who resides in Essex County, currently serves as an ambassador for healthy living for Barnabas Health enabling him to impact the lives of residents throughout New Jersey. For the last two years, Diehl has been a spokesperson for the Matthew J.
