Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Podiatrist Receives Maryland Podiatric Medical Association Outstanding Service Award
Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC podiatrist Dr. Stephen D. Palmer (Annapolis and Clarksville Divisions) was recently awarded for his outstanding service to podiatry at the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association meeting on April 15, 2015.
Dr. Palmer graduated from Kansas State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Life Sciences. While at Kansas State, Dr. Palmer participated in intercollegiate soccer, track and cross-country. He then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1996.
Dr. Palmer completed his residency and surgical training at Doxey Hatch Medical Center, the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He entered private practice in Maryland after completing his training in Salt Lake City in 1999. Dr. Palmer currently sees patients in two office locations, Clarksville and Annapolis, and is a member of the medical staff at Howard County General Hospital and Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he is currently serving as Associate Chief of Podiatric Surgery. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy, reconstructive surgery, and limb salvage.
Dr. Palmer is an Associate of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons. He lectures locally and nationally on a number of topics, including ankle arthroscopy, diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
A current member of the Howard County Striders and Annapolis Striders, he remains an avid runner, and has participated in numerous triathlons and marathons. He is a former assistant track and cross-country coach at Glenelg Country School, and remains a sports medicine consultant for "Accelerate Your Game" sports and speed agility training.
