We make food that goes 'Beyond Paleo'.
Huntsville, Alabama (PRWEB) April 27, 2015
Health conscious businesses in the Madison and Huntsville areas will soon have a first-of-its-kind bakery right on their doorstep, which will offer a wide range of foods made especially for those on restrictive and low-carbohydrate diets. This nut-based bakery will provide foods that are gluten, grain, and starch free, and will use only natural sweeteners like honey and fruit. Nourish Bakery, opening May 1, 2015, strives to provide specialty food that is currently not commonplace in major retailers.
Schlaman has been a long-time advocate of avoiding gluten for a number of digestive and autoimmune disorders within her immediate family, along with eating a Paleo diet to improve physical fitness. In addition, she knows the benefits of eliminating most starches and sugars in a person’s diet. Instead of using steroids or pharmaceuticals to treat the issues in her family, she was able to use diet to eliminate the problems.
While these specific diet foods were extremely beneficial to her family, the process of making food became both time-consuming and expensive. After coming up empty on a search for where she could simply buy these items, Schlaman decided to open her own bakery; specifically, a first commercial bakery of its kind, using only the finest ingredients and methods to serve this fast-growing market. Nourish Bakery will not only serve local clientele, but will focus its business on providing for communities nationally through direct to consumer marketing and wholesale food manufacturing. Food items will include breads, sauces, crackers, desserts, and more.
Nourish Bakery promises to provide processed food that can be consumed by those on special diets like Paleo, SCD™ and GAPS™. Among those promises are: products do not contain most starches, they avoid refined sugars and sweeten food with only honey and fruit, and all ingredient labels will be all-inclusive and specific, meaning you will know exactly what you are eating. Locally, Nourish Bakery will offer hot and cold espresso drinks daily, along with a small variety of donuts, biscotti or muffins.
Nourish Bakery is located at 9048 Segers Road, close to the intersection of Old Hwy 20 and County Line Road, in Madison, AL. For more information, visit http://www.nourishbakery.com
