News for May 2015 from the Luxury Train Club features the Grand Hibernian launch, a Royal Scotsman & Goring Hotel offer, Spanish trains, Rovos’s rail tours, more 2016 rates & dates, current Belmond promotions, Venice Simplon-Orient-Express destinations and bucket list ideas for India.

It is free to join the Luxury Train Club, by subscription to the newsletter. Club Members get discount off every journey featured on the Club website, as well as any valid offer from the individual trains. The Club site features over 30 trains travelling in more than 35 countries. There are currently more than 9,000 Members.

The Grand Hibernian: there’s Irish In the blood. The Grand Hibernian 2016 rates and dates have now been announced. The journeys, for no more than 40 passengers, are ideal for anyone with a spot of Irish or who wants to explore Ireland. NO single supplements are applied; this means the sole use of a double twin-bed cabin, subject to availability. The journeys are:
Realm Of Giants, 2 nights, Dublin to Belfast, Titanic Experience, Old Bushmills Distillery and the Giants Causeway.
Legends & Loughs, 4 nights, Dublin towards Cork and Blarney Castle, then onto the Lakes of Killarney, Connemara National Park and Galway.
The Grand Tour Of Ireland, 6 nights, all the above plus a city tour of Ireland.

Royal Scotsman & Goring Hotel, London: travel Edinburgh to London on the Belmond Royal Scotsman and get two complimentary nights at the Goring Hotel, where Kate Middleton spent her last night before marriage to Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

The choice in Spain: world icons in the south or the lesser-known north. Whether seeking the cultural delights of Andalusia or the relatively unknown Atlantic coasts and hinterland, Spain’s luxury trains, Al Andalus and El Transcantábrico, operate until late October. Early Bird fares are still available for 4-6 month advance booking, as well as 2.5% Club discount.

Rovos Pride Of Africa rail adventures: Rovos Pride Of Africa has a range of journeys that capture the essence of southern Africa - the Cape Town Journey, the Durban Journey, the Victoria Falls Journey and the Dar es Salaam Journey, the Golf Journey and the Namibia Journey.

Belmond offers, promotions & discounts: Belmond has 7 luxury trains, and the offers change frequently. Here is a summary if the current opportunities, but updates are available for the Club. and so please ask for an update.

Visitors to the UK in 2015 should consider one of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express’s sister trains, British Pullman and Northern Belle (booking before May 31 for these promotions): Either £100 discount per couple off any 2015 journey except dinner trips, or 4 for 3 - pay for three passengers, fourth travels free.

The Royal Scotsman special rail cruise train in Scotland is offering:

  • Travel by June 30 2015 for one free extra night, book by May 31.
  • Highland Journey (2 nts) - one free night at the Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh;
  • Western Journey (3 nts) at the price of Highland Journey (2 nts);
  • Classic Journey (4-nts) at the price of Western Journey (3-nts).

The Eastern & Oriental Express in south-east Asia has a complimentary upgrade: Book by 31 May any 2015 journey from July onwards and receive a cabin upgrade plus $200 on-board credit per couple.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express offers 25% discount off the second passenger’s fare: Book by May 31 to travel in in June, July or August 2015. Destinations include Budapest, London, Paris, Prague, Vienna and Venice.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express isn't only London to Venice. In line with railway history, it now has a number of destinations, such as Paris, Prague, Budapest and Vienna.

Bucket list ideas for India: travelling in India by luxury train with an extensive programmer of visits allows you to experience the very best of this mighty sub-continent.
