Indian Netizens / Internet Entrepreneurs Unite To Save India's Net Neutrality By Forming INIEWA, India’s 1st Association of Netizens / Internet Entrepreneurs & Companies
New Delhi, India (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs unite to form INIEWA – Indian Netizens and Internet Entrepreneurs Welfare Association, which is India’s 1st non-profit association of Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies formed to save India’s net neutrality as well as take up any other initiative(s) required to be raised to secure India's Internet interests going forward. Apart from being a platform for Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies to unite and organize, INIEWA has also announced that it will spearhead real initiatives immediately at a national-level for saving India’s net neutrality, such as, policy initiative(s), legal initiative(s)) and take up any other issue(s) that may have the potential of compromising India’s internet interests.
INIEWA, is being led by, Mr. Varun Bajaj, who is the Founding President of INIEWA. Apart from being a netizen, Mr. Bajaj is amongst one of the few specialised Internet lawyer(s) of India. Being an Internet lawyer himself, Mr. Bajaj, understands the nuances of the policy / law-making as well as how to legally contest the anti-net neutrality stakeholders to save India’s net neutrality and take any necessary steps to secure India's Internet interests going forward.
Speaking to us, Mr. Bajaj stated the following:
“The events that led to the formation of INIEWA were that we observed various initiative(s) being taken to create awareness for saving India’s net neutrality (which have played their own significant role) as well as the Indian netizens have been consistently marking their protests online in huge numbers on all possible social sites against the anti-net neutrality steps being taken by the the anti-net neutrality stakeholders in India. However, even after doing the foregoing, still the power of Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies was falling short of creating real pressure, so as to ensure that these anti-net neutrality stakeholders, such as, few Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), retract their anti-net neutrality steps, because these awareness campaign / activism were not getting converted into real initiative(s) / action(s) against these anti-net neutrality stakeholders. Hence, INIEWA, has been formed by the Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies to fill-up this gap in India and spearhead real initiative(s) / action(s) against these anti-net neutrality stakeholders to save India’s Net Neutrality, whether by taking up policy-initiative(s) / legal-initiative or by bringing all netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies on a common platform.
In light of the foregoing, we would request and appeal to all Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies to please support INIEWA by associating with INIEWA, which can be done by simply following a one-step registration process through our official portal, http://www.iniewa.in/ and / or by following INIEWA's social media handles (the links of which are provided at INIEWA's official portal, that can be accessed by clicking at http://www.iniewa.in/). In addition to the foregoing, we will be regularly updating all the netizens / Internet entrepreneurs & companies associated with us on each development(s) regarding the real action(s) being taken by INIEWA to save India’s Net Neutrality.”
Additionally, the initiative of forming INIEWA, has also acted as a guiding force for netizens / internet entrepreneurs & companies across the globe to see how effectively the netizens / internet entrepreneurs & companies (who are the most critical stakeholders of an internet economy in any nation), can effectively contribute to save the net neutrality in their respective countries, which is now more of a global concern and issue to be addressed.
