Grand Re-Opening of Popular Penguin Diner Restaurant in Bethany Beach, DE; New Farm to Table Approach and Dinner Menu
Bethany Beach, Delaware (PRWEB) May 12, 2015 -- The Penguin Diner, a popular fixture in Bethany Beach, Delaware since 2008, has had a grand re-opening after undergoing a complete renovation. The two month process included completely renovating the interior of the restaurant. “The time had come to renovate due to the number of people who have visited the restaurant over the past seven summers,” explained Katie McLeod, General Manager and co-owner. “We took the opportunity to upgrade and update our look.”
In addition to the physical changes to the restaurant, the kitchen has altered its approach. A new “farm to table” focus dominates the menu, with local dairy, vegetables and meats provided whenever feasible. “We believe in working with our local farmers and supporting them,” stated McLeod. “My daughters and I moved here from Vermont, and I grew up surrounded by farms. What is now called ‘Farm to Table’ was all I knew growing up. 'Syrup,' of course, meant 100% Vermont maple syrup, and tomatoes and eggs came from the farm next door. We want to bring that taste and focus on fresh ingredients to Bethany Beach.” McLeod continued that “in spite of the changes, we remain a family oriented restaurant in every sense, as two of my other partners are my daughters, Jennifer and Lee. So we take very personally proving the best food and service possible.”
The Penguin Diner is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in season and Thursday through Sunday in the off-season.
