FCAA Unveiled as New Name for AICCCA at Annual Conference
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- At the annual meeting of the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies in Chicago today, President Kevin Weeks announced a change in the name of the organization. AICCCA is now FCAA, Financial Counseling Association of America.
“The new name better represents the broad services that member agencies provide needy consumers across the country and the moves our agencies have been making to enhance their scope of services to consumers,” said Weeks. “The recent launch of two new websites, WatchIt4U.org and StudentLoanCounselors.org, also helped shaped this move.”
Along with the change in name, the association’s website has been updated to allow easier access to the services member agencies provide with a uniform appearance that ties all FCAA sites together. The new FCAA logo is also closely connected to the WatchIt4U.org and StudentLoanCounselors.org logos and will create a uniform appearance across all FCAA assets in the future. All sites and services are now under the umbrella of and can be accessed at FCAA.org.
The StudentLoanCounselors.org site gives consumers the ability to visit one user-friendly website for much needed information about student loans. Consumers can also easily connect with a non-profit agency providing one-on-one assistance if needed.
The WatchIt4u site provides detailed and timely state and federal legislative weekly alerts along with a searchable legislative database. This has long been a service of the association for its members and was recently opened to new subscribers.
“The new name is shorter and easier to remember, as well as being more descriptive of everything our members have to offer,” said Weeks. “While credit counseling remains a cornerstone of our services, we have and will continue to broaden our scope to include all aspects of financial counseling. Our members are independent nonprofit agencies that advocate for debtors and annually counsel more than 600,000 consumers on issues affecting their financial well-being. That’s what the AICCCA has been offering since 1993 and it is what FCAA will continue to offer today and in the future.”
Links to student loan, bankruptcy, housing, reverse mortgage and credit counseling assistance are on the home page of the new website. There are also links for debt management plans, credit report reviews and financial education on the home page. Visit http://www.fcaa.org for more information.
