We've had very positive customer feedback
Mesquite, TX (PRWEB) April 28, 2015
Dependable Auto Shippers has recently teamed up with technology firm ThingLogix in order to make cross-country car shipping even more transparent. Over the next two months, Dependable Auto Shippers plans to double their available devices, adding another 2,500 to their fleet.
Beginning last November, the Dallas-based car shipping service has used ThingLogix's tracking devices to track individual cars as they are transported on large car-carrying trucks. Dependable Auto Shippers are used by car owners in the process of moving long distances and are unable to drive their cars themselves to their new location. Though the company has been using ThingLogix devices for two years now, it is only since last year that they placed tracking devices in the cars themselves as opposed to the transportation trucks.
Though the tracking information for individual cars is only visible to the company itself, customers can call the company to find out about the location. Using the new service, Dependable Auto Shippers can provide real-time information for client use.
Still, the tracking devices provide accurate, round-the-clock information regarding car locations. Some devices can even connect to the car's internal system and can provide information on the car's condition, such as its oil levels and mileage. These features are mostly exclusive to newer-model cars, such as those with a OBDII port, into which the tracking device can connect.
So far, the new technology has been very popular with clients, according to Quality Director Jon Kreuger.
"We've had very positive customer feedback," Kreuger said. "We've even been asked if they can purchase the devices from us."
ThingLogix's tracking devices have proven to be useful for Dependable Auto Shippers' clientele, especially when their cars are transported across the country. Going from a trucking terminal in California to one in Atlanta, for example, can take up to two-weeks, if not more. Dependable Auto Shippers moves more than 50,000 cars every year. The cars themselves can be as inexpensive as a run-down 1970s Ford Pinto or as luxurious as a Rolls-Royce.
Since last November, the company has used close to 2,500 tracking devices and is planning on purchasing another 2,500 before the rush season in June.
