Lyn will be honored at United Way’s “Fourth Annual Leading a Life of Purpose” on Thursday, May 7th at the Woodruff Arts Center from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The event will feature a panel discussion with Kate Atwood, Executive Director of the Arby’s Foundation, Marty Evans, Rear Admiral, Retired, of the U.S. Navy and former CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA as well as the American Red Cross, and Virginia A. Hepner, President and CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center. United Way’s Leading a Life of Purpose event recognizes women as key drivers of change and growth in philanthropy.
Lyn served on the United Way of Greater Atlanta Board of Directors for seven years and has chaired the Community Investments Committee and United Way’s annual DeKalb campaign. She currently serves on the Community Impact Council and the DeKalb County Advisory Board. She also serves on the Alexis de Tocqueville Society cabinet as the Engagement Chair. She is a strong supporter of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), and she and her husband, Bob, served as honorary co-chairs of the annual Hearts with Hope gala in 2009. Lyn is an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
