This is a powerful alliance of skills, harnessing leading edge practices and cross-fertilizing their knowledge. It will fuel another leap forward in our understanding of humanity and how to apply that to clients’ business ambitions.

J. Walter Thompson Company today announced the launch of a new specialized practice called J. Walter Thompson Intelligence, offering a unique blend of research, innovation and data analytics across its global network.

In a move to add new competitive capabilities to its expanding network, J. Walter Thompson Intelligence will become the platform to house three key in-house practices: SONAR™, Analytics and The Innovation Group.

Guy Murphy, as part of his role as Worldwide Planning Director, will oversee the new group, which will operate out of key markets including Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North America.

The new J. Walter Thompson Intelligence group will include:

  • SONAR™ is J. Walter Thompson’s in-house research unit that develops and exploits new quantitative and qualitative research techniques to understand cultures, brands and consumer motivation around the world. It is led by Mark Truss, Worldwide Director of Brand Intelligence.
  • Analytics focuses on the innovative application of data and technology to inform and inspire new marketing solutions. It offers a suite of bespoke analytics tools and is led by Amy Avery, Head of Analytics, North America.
  • The Innovation Group will leverage its deep appreciation of future trends to offer new consultancy services. Its focus will be on helping Clients imagine new futures for their brands and identify disruptive new products and services. It will be led by Lucie Greene, Worldwide Director of the Innovation Group.
