Bluegrass Community Family Practice is a primary physician and urgent care facility located in Bardstown, Kentucky that provides services to several surrounding counties. Like many clinics and primary care practices across the country, Bluegrass Community Family Practice, headed by Dr. Brian Sosnin, experienced a significant increase in patients accessing their services since the Affordable Care Act was enacted. As part of their commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate medical services to their communities, Dr. Sosnin and his staff started a “Culture of Excellence” initiative and sought out innovative solutions to help them better address the challenges they face in their practice on a daily basis. Q. How has Zavanta supported your "Culture of Excellence?"

Not only can we share responsibilities among our experienced staff, but we can train new staff members and get them productive much more quickly because they can easily look up SOPs on any task and know what to do."

Q. What about day-to-day operations?

"We’ve seen noticeable improvements in our practice efficiency as well. For example, we now have all the steps for Patient Checkout clearly mapped out so nothing gets overlooked. If a patient needs imaging or other follow-up tests, we can ensure that all the diagnostic codes, referrals and instructions are in order at checkout—saving time for the patient and eliminating oversights. Because we have everything mapped out and everyone understands the work flow, we spend less time fighting “fires” and daily problem-solving and can focus on continually improving our processes and fulfilling our core mission of bringing a higher standard of care to the patients we serve.
