The Law Offices of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. Announces Winners of Third Annual Scholarship Essay Contest
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- The personal injury law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C.,with offices in Chicago and Waukegan, Illinois, is pleased to announce the prize winners and honorable mention selections from its third annual Scholarship Essay Contest.
"We wish to congratulate all of our scholarship award winners for their outstanding work, and we thank everyone who wrote an essay on the important topic of distracted driving,” said attorney Patrick A. Salvi, the managing equity partner of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C.
For the third consecutive year, the Chicago personal injury and medical malpractice law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. sponsored a Scholarship Essay Contest to support education and raise awareness about the issue of distracted driving.
The contest was open to Illinois high school seniors and college freshman. Students were asked to write an essay that answers the question, “How serious is the problem of distracted driving among young drivers?” Eight scholarships were awarded to go towards college tuition.
Scholarship essay winners include:
First Prize ($2,500): Jacob Lindstedt of Saint Charles, Illinois, a senior at Wheaton Academy. Jacob will be studying history/secondary education at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Second Prize ($1,500): Lyle Lacanlale of Woodridge, Illinois, a senior at Downers Grove South High School in Downers Grove, Illinois. Lyle will be studying civil engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, IL.
Third Prize ($500): Nathan Armando of Schaumburg, Illinois, a senior at James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Nathan will be studying biomedical engineering Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
Additionally, five participants will receive $100 honorable mention awards:
- Vishani Shah of Hoffman Estates, IL, a senior at Hoffman Estates High School in Hoffman Estates, IL.
- Amy Stark of Hawthorn Woods, IL, a senior at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL.
- Martin McDonough of Elmhurst, IL, a senior at York High School in Elmhurst, IL.
- Ashley Lenhart of Watseka, IL, a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, IL.
- Darek Makowski of Lake in the Hills, IL, a freshman at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL.
