Since launching in 2012, the My Favourite Voucher Codes has donated over £20,000 to various charities in the UK.
Bath, London (PRWEB UK) 4 May 2015
Fuelled by a desire to give something back to the community, the founder of My Favourite Voucher Codes, committed to donating 20% of monthly net profits to charity when he launched the website three years ago.
The latest donation broke the site’s record for the largest single donation, with a staggering £3,174.28 going to housing charity, Shelter. However, it’s not the first time that My Favourite Voucher Codes has donated more than £3,000 in a month.
Back in December, a further £3098.89 went to bibic, which works with children and young people suffering with social and learning difficulties. Just some of the other charities the site has supported include Children In Need, MIND, Oxfam, RSPCA, and Childline.
Each month a different charity is selected, via a poll on the website’s homepage, as the lucky recipient of that month’s net profits.
It doesn’t cost consumers anything to use the voucher codes (https://www.myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk/debenhams-voucher-codes) and special offers on the website. Instead, money is raised by the merchants paying a small commission to My Favourite Voucher Codes each time someone clicks through and makes a purchase.
This means that shoppers can save money on everything from their weekly groceries to their annual holiday, and help contribute towards the donation to charity all at the same time.
When landing on the website, visitors will be greeted by April’s charity poll, where they can choose between Barakah Food Aid, a Manchester charity that distributes food to people in need; the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, which saves lives at sea; and The Who Cares? Trust, which gives a voice to children in care.
More recently, My Favourite Voucher Codes (https://www.myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk/argos-voucher-codes) has also launched a prize draw, which could see the site donate up to £2,500 to PDSA – the animal charity that gives healthcare and advice to pet owners.
The minimum pledge of £250 is topped up by 10p per entry into the free prize draw, meaning the more people that enter, the higher the donation to PDSA. Winners will collect £100 Tesco vouchers, £100 Red Letter Days vouchers, £100 Fife Country vouchers, a range of VonShef kitchen products, and Deciem beauty products.
Mr House commented on My Favourite Voucher Codes’ charity donations: “We have been donating 20% of our monthly net profits to charity for over three years now, and have managed to surpass all of our expectations, with a grand total of more than £20,000 going to good causes around the country. I only hope that we can raise the same amount of money in the next three years.”
