The winners of NVTC's 2015 Destination Innovation Competition.

On Wednesday, April 29 at The Washington Post headquarters in downtown D.C., the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) recognized innovative technology companies and products at Destination Innovation. Presented by the NVTC Technology Innovations Committee, in partnership with Capital Business, this fourth annual event highlighted technology advancements emerging from the Greater Washington region through an exhibition, networking, industry speakers and innovation pitches.

Over four weeks in March and April, 32 companies competed for online votes on the Capital Business website in round one of the competition. After more than 46,000 total votes, the top four companies in each of four categories were selected to exhibit and compete at the event. During round two of the competition, companies gave two minute pitches about their technology at the event and audience votes determined two finalists in each category, who then competed head-to-head answering questions from a panel of judges in the competition’s final round.

The following winners were announced at the event:
Apps and Platforms Category: Fairfax County Public Schools
Safety and Security Category: Unisys
Health, Education and Energy Category: Kajeet
Wearables and Robotics Category: CyberTimez

In addition to company presentations, the event included remarks from SAIC CEO Tony Moraco and 1776 Managing Director Paul Singh.

Final round judges for the competition were Booz Allen Hamilton Strategic Innovation Group Vice President Sherry Altman, LMI President & CEO Nelson Ford, and 410 Labs President and Co-Founder Matthew Koll.
